Amanda

I started reading webcomics with one called 'Sluggy Freelance'. I believe that it was Kurt who introduced me to this comic, and it took me about 2 or three days with sittings of an hour or more each time to get through all the archives. This was about a year to a year and a half ago. Since then, I've added on quite a few comics to my 'must read' list. These you can find listed in the links area.

I had first wanted to start a comic back in highschool. I had an idea for a comic that was sort of like a simplistic 'For Better Or For Worse', only revolving around a young girl and highschool and having to deal with life and all its ups and downs. Of course, the idea is still banging around in my head. Perhaps one day, I'll get that strip started. Kurt had been banging around the idea of doing his own comic. He even got so far as to draw the first panel (which was about as far as I got for the first panel of my strip back in highschool). Unfortunately, it never got off the ground.

Then Kurt and I started banging around the idea of starting a Play By Email (PBEM) game set in a futuristic setting. It would have been sort of a cyber story (which just happens to be the name of the wordperfect file where we have it saved) and so we came up with a couple of characters. I played Kerry, the girl in the story. He played Sigmund and Deidre. We wound up writing about 23 pages, single spaced, with the story. Then...well...the PBEM idea sort of died.

Several months ago, Kurt asked what I thought about turning the story into a comic. After a moment's thought, I said that it might be an interesting idea (or something like that). Of course, we tossed the idea around for a while and finally got started on actually doing some work on it. Finally, we applied for space at Keenspace and now, here we are, showing the world my horrid drawing and his not-so-bad drawing.

So, anyway, that's how the whole thing got started. If you came here to actually learn something about *me*, then I'm just going to point you to my webpage. It's easier that way. ;-)

So here it is...Amanda and myself are finally doing a web-comic. Lord knows that we both read enough of them. From how I see it, this is both an experiment and an exercise. Both of us like to tell (and be told) stories, and this serial comic is indeed a story. In the process of delivering entertainment to an audience, we hope to develop both our writing and artistic skills.

The story might be a little dark, and sometimes grim, but we do endeavor to deliver a meaningful and engaging tale. Its the not-too-distant future, and society has taken a turn for the worst. Technology is both a wonderful and a horrible thing, and stability is just a dream. Can a few random souls manage to survive in a hostile world of the future? Come watch and see.
